It's always funny to me that inexperienced new coders just assume I'll be annoyed answering their questions. "Why would I be annoyed by that? You just started this month, I don't expect you to know stuff". Is there some other field where people berate novices for just starting?

I don't always clear my calculator... but when I do, I hit both 'C' and 'CE' a bunch of times because I don't know exactly what they do.

I think about this a lot. I'd much rather see `stream.FlushBlocking()` or some such now. I'm also... questioning the interface prefix. And naming CRUD methods with the same verbs. I'm in my 40s, I feel like wilding out for a change.
@Dave_DotNet All code is 'async' by default now. It is more sensible to have it as: DoSomethingSynchronously() 😃

"Have you been flossing?" I have a theory that being lied to that consistently for that long causes some kind of long term effects in dental workers. They can't be completely unscathed. Mutant powers or sociopathy or just silently dying inside 😢

You're not as kind as you think. I bet that you: - Try to help out your peers when they need assistance debugging - Focus on getting the juniors more ramped up in their work - Get other stakeholders information that they need - Even volunteer to mentor other people "But uhh...

File under personal growth: This year I finally sat down with a psychologist and asked for a read on how I am doing. It was not a crisis decision. It was a curiosity check. I figured it could not hurt. It ended up being one of the most productive conversations I have had in a

If I started using a left-handed mouse regularly, I could become a GENIUS! Is there an accessibility setting that can move scrollbars to the left edge?

OR “On psychological flexibility” In this post I’ll talk about my mental health. VB/Tech talk will be back after. Last month I turned 41 but what I want to talk about is last year…

This is my theory for why #vbnet supports "smart quotes" for string literals. Someone on the compiler game got tired of pasting examples out of Word and getting errors.

I just paid money to edit a grammatical error in a tweet and I've never felt so satisfied with a purchase. It feels like being wrapped in a warm blanket 😭

I cannot stress this enough: I, an actual breathing human with finite lifespan, do not have time to ingest content that wasn't worth another human being's time to write. If AI is summarizing AI generated slop, we're wasting electricity. I did not have a content shortage problem.
There should be a "not interested because this is AI" button so the algorithm can learn how much humans don't want that stuff.

What do @MadsTorgersen & I share (besides a love for curly braces)? Turns out, something that is a feature, not a bug. And it's called ...👉 #ADHD. In the pilot of #SharpAndUnfiltered, we talk the back and forth to clarity, symptoms, and superpowers. https://t.co/7Bs5rn07QG

I assume the solution has 10-20 projects minimum, separated by layer and dependencies, namespace, and feature, with interfaces and implementations in different projects, etc. I've been guilty of this.
@kellabyte Facts 😂 Every time I open a .NET project it feels like 20 layers of abstractions fighting each other. By the time you reach the actual logic, you’ve already aged 5 years.

This weekend I was cleaning and I tried so hard to be okay with throwing away a random cable I had lying around but I just couldn't do it 😞 I still believe the day will come one year when it gets to shine while hobbling together some a/v equipment acquired in a game of chance.

Your move, @warnerbros We children of the 90s expect an updated and correct animation to be forthcoming. Hats off to @humanteneleven for doing the hard part! https://t.co/NmU4h6FixE

I bought a new video card with "hardware transform & lighting" because the game required it. The card was mine, the computer was the school's so I just literally plugged and played that summer. The stability though. Auto-detected. No crashes. Was this really a Windows scenario?

In 2003 while trying to play EVE Online in my high school computer lab, I learned that I could insert and remove a graphics card without shutting down Windows XP. I do not know why I tried, why it worked, or why it excited me, but I was impressed.
