I love this. A British politician has the surname "Cleverly" so it's hard to report anything that sounds bad about him.

Not to say they deserved it but is there any conceivable timeline in which pre-Columbian peoples *weren't* wiped out by disease? Someone was going to cross the Atlantic eventually. Smallpox was going to do its thing. How could it have been avoided?

Okay fine. I think America not existing is an OK side effect of not killing 96% of Native Americans from first contact to the 20th century

By "independent investigation" what he means is that no-one will be fired, no-one will be hold accountable, nothing meaningful will change, but he'll pay millions of pounds of your money to his lawyer friends for them to write a long report that no-one reads.

Kebatu is back in Ethiopia - where he belongs. I thank colleagues in the Home Office for this swift deportation. ย  I have already established an independent investigation into the events of last Friday, and prisons now have the strictest checks ever to prevent release errors.

A Levels now teaching "Marxist theory... eco-critical theory... post colonial theory..." There is just so much brainwashing going on in schools and universities - we have to enforce the (1996) law on political neutrality.

"Gamification" has unfortunately become synonymous for putting lipstick on an educational pig, but it doesn't have to be that way. And "dopamine hits" aren't bad per se, they're just part of human corporeal life.

LLMs are so much better at coding today than they were six months ago. And 6 months ago was already a huge improvement on 12 months ago. If you're not on board yet, how? What more do you need to see?

It's amazing how Javascript has been around for 16 years longer than Elixir and has 1000000x the mindshare yet its tooling is still dumpster fire dogshit trainwreck garbage compared to what Elixir has had since version 1.
