8th July, 2025 - FORECAST .Close to the average for time of year with highs around 21°C. Again those brisk northerly breezes keeping things feeling a little cool. Remaining dry for the forseeable.

7th July, 2025.Conditions similar to my last visit to Canterbury albeit a little cooler. We had sunny skies a few hours ago but now some ominous looking clouds have drifted over. Highs around 19-20°C. Cool.
11th June, 2025.Surprisingly cloudy in Canterbury when I arrived from blue sky Thanet. A bit of cooler feel but the sun is doing its best to come out…Probably reach a 22°C here this afternoon if we see more cloud breaks.

7th July, 2025 - FORECAST .The morning hours could be very wet although we should see some good sunshine peaking through after midday. Feeling rather cool in those brisk northerly winds.

July 6th historically has seen some violent storms here. In 1969 there were damaging gales causing havoc through the night with extremely heavy rain - up to 60mm's falling at Manston. In 1927 violent thunderstorms caused over 50mm's of rain to fall at both Ramsgate and Margate.

Of course 1921 was pretty bad too with just 106mm’s recorded at Margate and 113mm’s at Ramsgate.

Manston has seen around 200mm's of rainfall so far this year. It's below average but not catastrophically so. The average is around 250mm's for 6 months. It was real dire straits in 1976 when Manston had only seen 80mm's of rain by the beginning of July which was worse than 1921.
