Ownership by lock EMA: . Every ~30 days the chain would look at each subnet’s “lock-EMA” (an average of how much stake is still locked). The account with the highest votes could become / remain the subnet owner. 4/🧵.

But why?. The PR aims to reward longer term commitment and curb “quick in / quick out” staking that can destabilize subnets. This upgrade would give the community a chance to act upon the distrust or inefficiencies of a current owner. 3/🧵.

What’s a stake lock? . Holders could voluntarily lock part (or all) of their staked TAO for a chosen period. The lock decays linearly: each block, a tiny slice unlocks until the timer ends. 2/🧵.
