Exploring #coding with #ozobots and making connections to equations of lines #MTH1W. @SaundersOne were asked to code a path for their ozobot to follow using 4 lines with positive/negative/zero/undefined slopes... then find the equations of those lines. #STEMatSaunders #tvdsb

This #STEMatSaunders group is conducting tests and data collection (for the math component of the project). They successfully built a solar powered vehicle that stores power in a rechargeable battery pack. A switch allows power from the battery to the motor. #tvdsb

Another #STEMatSaunders project involves creating under water lights that would attract fish to coral reefs in order to maintain important levels of nitrogenous wastes that act as fertilizer. They included a solar panel as its power source. #tvdsb

After 1 week into our Make Life Better Project, #STEMatSAUNDERS students have made a lot of progress. This group is using heat energy to charge a cell phone. More testing today before they build their prototype. @SaundersOne #tvdsb

A breakthrough today with an arduino project! A student spent study hall troubleshooting and tweaking her circuit and was rewarded with a keyboard that she built and coded herself! Just awesome! @STEMatSaunders #TVDSB

Arduinos, Codebender and Chromebooks - @STEMatSaunders #tvdsb students building circuits (Science 9) with LCDs, servers, etc. But they can also explore the code and see what happens if you change certain variables. It is amazing what they discover on their own.

I love the open-ended build challenges... Challenge 1 - get one LED to turn ON Challenge 2 - get more than one LED to turn ON Challenge 3 - can you control any of them with switch? Challenge 4 - ??? Students took it from there...@STEMatSaunders #tvdsb #science
