It’s the weirdest thing 2 & 3 years ago DET was the worst team in the conference 4 & 5 years ago OKC was the 2nd worst in the conference 2 & 3 years ago SAS was the worst/2nd worst in the conference How’d they get out? It’s almost like that’s what the draft is intended to do

OKC accidentally made themselves the villain of the NBA through all this. I hope the other small market teams come together and treat them accordingly lol

So you’d agree then that the Jazz sticking with their young guys in clutch minutes vs the Heat and coming out with a WIN was great for the development of guys like Collier (a starter), Ace (a starter), Sensabaugh, Williams, and Filipowski?
Can we please get rid of the word "Tanking" in the NBA vocabulary. That word means that players/coaching staff are trying to lose on purpose. Now if you want to say management has put together an inferior roster with the focus of player development, that is fine.

There have been 19 games this season when SGA has played but didn’t log a single minute in the 4th quarter. So they’re going to get fined for that right? Because integrity?

Siakam is 24th in minutes played. Silver fined Indiana because he could have played, but on a minutes restriction Lauri is 16th in MPG. Utah still played him, but put him on a minutes restriction to keep him healthy. Silver fined the Jazz. Their own statement is contradictory!

THE NETS SAT A 19 YEAR OLD ROOKIE FOR “REST” VS A TANKING BULLS TEAM MONDAY! NBA either has to enforce it uniformly or not at all. Thats the extra insane thing here.

Hey Bobby, thoughts?
@andyblarsen I’ll bet you my 401k I would. And I would have said the same thing if my son was the GM.

I hope Ryan Smith (& the Player’s Union for that matter!) sues the NBA over this. JJJ was on a minutes restriction because a tumor is growing in his knee Then Silver fined the Jazz for not playing him (in a game they won!) This slippery slope needs to be stopped hard and fast
When asked if he would continue to sit Lauri Markkanen in the fourth quarters of games, Will Hardy said: "I sat Lauri because he was on a minutes restriction. So if our medical team puts a minutes restriction on Lauri, I'll try to keep Lauri healthy."

Ok but the Jazz WON THE GAME! Are they going to fine coaches for changing their rotation or wanting to develop young players? There is a day of reckoning coming for the NBA for getting into net with gambling partners. Adam Silver is the worst thing to happen to the NBA
On the ZL Show today, @FredKatz also implored the NBA to simply enforce its rules. It appears they have done so here. It will be interesting to see how high the fines have to get before teams care.

Wait they seriously called out JJJ by name? The same JJJ that was on a minutes restriction because he has a freaking TUMOR GROWING IN HIS KNEE!?!? I’m 100% convinced this fine was brought to you by the league’s betting partners that they’re bending their knee for
The NBA announces a $500,000 fine for Utah for “conduct detrimental to the league” and a $100,000 fine for Indiana for violating the league’s Player Participation Policy:

Wait so this whole “integrity of the game” hit the nba put out against the Jazz was actually JJJ playing through injury so he could give the home fans a game before getting surgery!? That’s a lot of integrity by JJJ. And the entire media owes Utah an apology for that one.
The Jazz knew about JJJ’s knee previously. They were going to shut him down. Jaren was adamant that he wanted to play once at home before the surgery. They set his restriction at 25 minutes. That’s one reason he didn’t play in the previous fourth quarters, per sources

The media bias & hate against Utah has never been more transparent.

Do you know what PVNS is? That’s literally a (benign) tumor growing in his freaking knee. What’s he supposed to do? Just let it keep growing and cause significantly worse problems later? But he’s, let’s make this about the Jazz tanking being the issue
This tanking thing is getting out of control. Gonna be almost a quarter of the league trying to tank after the all-star break. Adam Silver needs to do something about this for the future of the league.

Can’t believe how unethically this roster was built right @BobbyMarks42!? They won just 22 games and got the #1 pick in Wemby Then won just 22 games AGAIN & got the #5 pick in Castle Then won 34 games & got the #2 pick in Harper Disgusting display of roster building & ethics
The Spurs have won 6 straight games and are only 3.5 games behind OKC for the No. 1 seed. Here comes San Antonio 🍿

The Jazz tried harder than anyone to tank the “right way” this season. And they’re getting accosted for it publicly by all media outlets So at this point I’d say embrace it and only play Lauri, JJJ, Key, and even Nurk every 4-5 games. Make up random injuries each game they miss
"When he signed [the extension], [Will Hardy] understood, 'I'm being paid to do what the organization wants me to do.'" Brian Windhorst talks about tanking going on in the NBA 🏀 (via @richeisenshow)
