There’s a lot still to do before I fly away, but I am beyond thrilled to shake things up in my life and career. 3/3.

I’ll be using large epidemiological datasets to further our understanding of how supportive factors can improve mental health outcomes in trans and gender diverse youth. A slightly different focus from the typical doom & gloom that i’m so fond of! . 2/3.

I can now officially announce that this September I will be relocating to Canada! Back in December I was offered a research fellowship with Ian Colman at the @APEAL_Lab 🥰 . 1/3.

This study assessed the role of microaggressions in the mental health of trans people. This is based on the recruitment of 1039 trans people and finds that microaggressions aren’t so microaggressions after all!.

To study. What we don’t need right now are people wholly unqualified in trans health making such statements. There is a considerable evidence base that purports trans healthcare as life saving healthcare /rant 3/3.

In so much pain for trans young people and their families. I have given numerous talks to the division of psychiatry, and also lead on the creation of the LGBT EDI working group. Seeing this would make me reconsider whether the division of psychiatry is somewhere i would want 2/3.

This is disappointing to see. I try not to get too involved on X discourse as it only serves to make me feel more miserable. It’s disheartening to see someone so prominent in my prior division support the recommendations of the Cass Review. The same review that has resulted 1/3.
