A rise in heatwaves, as a result of the climate crisis, is causing bumblebee nests to overheat with fatal consequences. Bumblebees are vital pollinators and their numbers are already in decline due to habitat loss. We need climate action now🐝✊ https://t.co/Er9nvqah7P

More frequent heatwaves mean bees are unable to thermoregulate their hives – further endangering a species already in decline

Did you hear the news? We've just defeated the government over its UNLAWFUL CLIMATE PLAN 🙌⚖️ "What we now need to see is a climate plan which is robust, which is comprehensive and which is fair." - Tony Bosworth, lead campaigner at Friends of the Earth.

Activists argued that the plan for cutting emissions would not meet the UK's climate targets.

We had a great time at the #BootleClimateActionFair on Thursday. We served up over 40 litres of delicious soup using rescued spring greens gleaned by @TakingRoot3, along with flatbreads & herb pesto.

Harvest time in our Seaforth community garden! Lots of fresh produce making it's way from the growing beds to our community kitchen. Huge thanks to our wonderful local volunteers and companions, which without their skills and efforts, none of this could happen. 🌱💚
