✨NEW PUB ALERT✨ Honored to share this work and introduce the concept of "Indigenous Placemaking" to show how place functions as a relative, teacher, memoryscape, and system of reciprocal relations. Place is not a backdrop upon which social life unfolds; it is who we are. 1/3

Absolutely powerful gathering with @FranceskAlbs in @ziibiinglab. When I founded it as a global Indigenous politics research collaboratory at @UofT, I dreamt of hosting profound conversations like this. From Hawaiʻi to Palestine, occupation is a crime—our liberation is entwined.

I ended lecture last Thursday with this snippet. The syllabus listed November 5 as a day for voting, reading, rest, and whatever else students needed to show up and dig into the novel with me tomorrow. They flooded office hours yesterday regardless. So grateful for them. ♥️

I’m an eternal optimist and believe we have the capacity to grow through darkness and toward the light. The truth is that the light isn't gone. Some folks just refuse to live in it. I'm not okay with that, but WE won't stop growing. Onward.
