Medicine: where million-dollar drugs and a $0.03 alcohol wipe have recognized success....nausea doesn’t stand a chance. Love it. @TXState_RC @tsrc_org @aarc_tweets @NBRC_tweets @MarshallDocg
Scene from 24 hrs in A&E. A patient with nausea and vomiting is given an alcohol wipe to sniff to relieve symptoms. While this may sound absurd, its effectiveness has been confirmed in randomised trials and may be superior to ondansetron. Would you recommend this?

This is the kind of lung logic that gets calling Dr. Collins! 🫁 🔹GLI tells you if it’s abnormal 🌟STAR shows how far obstruction has gone 🟨GOLD hints at what comes next Diagnosis ➡️ Staging ➡️ Prognosis @tsrc_org @abbeyhudgins @MarshallDocg @txsthealth
Could there be 3 ways to look at obstruction? STAR stages obstruction (FEV₁/FVC). GOLD adds depth with %predicted FEV₁. GLI defines what's normal using LLN. Maybe every STAR has a GOLD lining…and a GLI lens. @TXState_RC @aarc_tweets @respcare #COPD

💬 Couldn’t agree more! This study is a reminder of the value RTs bring to patient care—and why our students are training for the future. MSRC roles = more opportunity to lead and innovate. Proud to be shaping tomorrow’s respiratory leaders! #BSRC #FutureRTs @txsthealth @tsrc_org
New study alert! RT-led COPD clinic = ↓ symptoms, ↓ exacerbations, ↓ hospitalizations. The research data support what we know: RTs impact lives. Just the beginning—APRTs are the next level. Let’s keep advancing. @tsrc_org @TXState_RC @aarc_tweets @txst

Love seeing NICU research in action—and RTs leading the charge! Teamwork, tape checks, and timely extubation...That’s how it’s done. Future RTs: this is the kind of impact you’re training for. 🚼💪 @aarc_tweets @tsrc_org @respcare @abbey_hudgins
#FutureRTs #RTeducation
🛑 Unplanned extubations in the NICU? Not on their watch. SickKids' 7 standards of care—including 2-person procedures, tape checks, and timely extubation—dropped UE rates from 3.46 ➡️ 0.14 per 100 vent days. https://t.co/WdlyoSSLPJ

👏 Love seeing research like this in action. nCPAP & infant PFTs! That’s lung science.🫁✅RTs involved in research in neonatal care. Discussed in the MSRC Diagnostics Course! #BSRCproud #FutureRTs #RespiratoryCare #NICU #GetYourMSRC @abbey_hudgins @MarshallDocg @tsrc_org
Tiny lungs, big impact! RCT showed 2 extra weeks of CPAP in stable preemies led to bigger alveolar volume & better lung function at 6 months! That's right...they did infant PFTs! 👶💨 #NICU #LungGrowth #RespiratoryCare @TXState_RC @aarc_tweets @tsrc_org @NBRC_tweets @OSRCNW

If you have COPD & have these symptoms talk to your health care provider--it could be bronchiectasis & NTM lung disease: excessive mucus, coughing up blood, chest infections, fatigue/weight loss, fever/night sweats. If breathe, you should know about COPD. https://t.co/QVYzDX2FFa

Fully agree! Nothing like walking into a room, hearing “the patient’s oxygen level is dropping,” and instantly channeling all your RT instincts like a cardiopulmonary superhero. Critical thinking + caffeine + a little chaos = the RT way! @txsthealth @TXState_RC @aarc_tweets
1/2 🧵Respiratory Therapists are frontline experts when it comes to the patient's cardiopulmonary system. One of the most rewarding parts of the profession? Using sharp critical thinking skills and evidence-based protocols to make real-time decisions that save lives.
