Game 2 Recap
Part One: What on Earth?/Family First
“Zooming out, the series should still be a war. Things aren’t looking great for Denver right now, but they’re the champs for a reason. I would be very surprised – borderline stunned – if they don’t win…
@KendrickPerkins
Kendrick Perkins been high key spittin' for a while now. One of the only guys with a big national platform that's truly recognized what's happening with Ant and this team. Mad respect
@JonKrawczynski
One of the best playoff games I can ever remember, even if it didn't end with my favorite team winning. But it did.
I'm floating in outer space
@TWolvesLead
And win the finals, yes, absolutely. I don't trust Boston one bit after last year and how awful their offense has been in tight games this year
@NadineBabu
This is what makes Anthony Edwards truly unique. There have been players with his level of talent. Not many, but a few. I can't think of a single one who trusts his teammates this much, who has shown so much growth as a decision maker, teammate, and leader in just four NBA…
@Stifle_Tower27
That's just facts. National media creaming themselves over ADs help defense last year when Gobert had played the exact same role better last year, when he wasn't himself physically. This year everyone sees – it's no contest
@TheDailyWolves
The smart ones, who realized the Jazz's defensive collapses in the playoffs were about the rest of the roster and not Gobert. The casuals will never appreciate everything a player like Gobert can do, especially with the national media questioning him and blaming him at every turn
@JonKrawczynski
What helps youth sports organizations make the most money =/= what is best for the development of young athletes. Such a scary landscape right now, honestly, with so few teams, coaches, players, or organizations focused on development and the long term growth of the athletes
@JonKrawczynski
One of the plays that won't get as much attention as the flasher highlights, especially from Ant, but this was maybe the play of the game. Gobert was sensational on defense tonight, playing exactly how the Wolves need him to in order to win the series
@TWolvesLead
Considering no one other than Ant can hit a shot, and the Wolves are playing 8 on 5, pretty good honestly. No way the Wolves shoot that bad in the second half, no way the refs are THAT biased for another 24 minutes
Third TWolvesRise Article!
Almost 8,000 words, in six parts, previewing the Nuggets series. Give it a look if you have time, and any feedback or engagement on the post is appreciated massively.
Part One: Introduction
Well, we made it folks. Once it became clear that the Rudy…
@JimPeteHoops
@Grady
@FSNtomhanneman
@Timberwolves
As a Wolves fan living in Seattle, one of the only things that makes me feel connected to Timberwolves fans at large is listening to you and
@Grady
on league pass. Missing out on that once the playoffs start is tough, but if I gotta listen to a national call, I certainly cannot…
@NBA_University
@Autograph
+14 in almost 40 minutes without making a shot shows a big part of why Jaden McDaniels is special. He's the best perimeter defender in the league
@HoodieNaz_
Disrespectful to Shai and Jamal Murray especially, who has proved it in the playoffs, to have Derrick White (????) over them. Ant is definitively top 5 tho. Only Luka, Jokic and maybe Brunson have been better offensively these playoffs, and Ant clears all three on defense easy
@NadineBabu
@Stewcat2006
And is then literally saying he won't walk those comments back before going on a two minute rant about how important size is
🙄
@Brando180
@JonKrawczynski
It doesn't, but at the same time, it does. This team is that good. Nothing they did tonight is anything they can't do for the rest of the series. We're witnessing something truly special with Edwards and this whole team
@uhhchrxs
Not even a hot take, just the likeliest outcome. 2 of the 3 best teams in the sport. Both have too much size for OKC, are better than Dallas, and more trustworthy than Boston, the only serious East team
Second TWolvesRise article!!!!
Game 4 recap (part 1/2)
GG suns.
And I do mean that literally. While Timberwolves fans have (fairly) enjoyed being petty, and Devin Booker’s antics in particular were not the kind that endear you to an opposing fan base, they were the actions of a…
@HoodieNaz_
Every time I see this clip on the TL I get madder. Unreal, and there were 6-7 calls this bad in the first half, every single one of which went against the Wolves. Jokic getting MVP whistle, ANT not getting anything
First TWolvesRise article!
How Did We Get Here?
Part 1/4 – Two Years ago to a year ago
44.5
That’s where Vegas had the Minnesota Timberwolves over/under before the season. A solid team, but not one expected to do anything serious in the upcoming season. The same as the…
Game 4 recap (part 2/2)
After halftime, you knew the Wolves would shoot it better, and they did. As mentioned previously however, the Gobert absence – the one dealing with the foul trouble in this game – allowed the Suns’ stars who started hot to get hotter, and the Wolves were…
@JonKrawczynski
Sometimes, you have just tip you cap, and stay motivated to keep making it as hard as possible. Sometimes great players make great plays
How Did We Get Here?
Part 2/4 – Anthony Edwards' incredible '23-'24 Season
In the 2023-2024 NBA Regular Season, Anthony Edwards did what he had done in the previous two playoffs. He showed how truly special he is as a player, already. Now at the ripe old age of 22, he put…
WE’VE WAITED YEARS FOR THIS
- From Malik Sealy
- To Stephon Marbury
- From busts like Darko Miličić and Derrick Williams
- From missing on Curry
- To Rubio’s ACL
- and 15 win seasons
Through it all we earned it. It’s time Minnesota.
IT’S ROUND 2 💯
Hi everyone. This it TWolvesRise. I am hoping to post longform content on this account and prove that people do still have the attention span to read articles, even on a place like Twitter. First article, in 4 parts, will hopefully begin being published very very soon
How Did We Get Here?
Part 3/4 – End of Season Review and Playoff Preview
There is something truly special about watching a great basketball team, where all the pieces fit, and you truly get to see each player learn their role, accept their role, star in their role, and help…
@JaceFrederick
This team is so special. Ant is so special. His growth as a leader, as a playmaker, as a decision maker, trusting his teammates while knowing when it's time for him to get his own, is unlike anything I've ever seen
Nuggets Series Preview Part Six: Summary of both teams benches, conclusion, and prediction
The bench is another massive area of potential advantage for the Timberwolves in this series. The Nuggets will likely only play three players meaningful minutes off the bench in this…
How Did We Get Here?
Part 4/4 – Playoff Round 1 Recap to Now
(Plus some big picture thoughts on where we're headed next)
Well… you know what happened. The Timberwolves played great in the first half at home in game 1, and entered half up 10. As anyone who watches the modern…
@KevinOConnorNBA
Yo this is actually crazy tough. Both players turning into exactly what the teams would've hoped when they made the picks. I guess it has to be Paolo, because he has a chance to be a true one, but Chet is amazing man
Great Q KoC that one made me stop and think for a minute…
@realphizzo
@DaneMooreNBA
He's not a 1. We all realized this years ago. As a 2 on offense, with his combination of post game and all time great shooting ability for a big, combined with his improvement on defense, accepting a role more on the perimeter but also with the size to be the main defender on…
Third TWolvesRise article previewing the series vs Denver is done, but I want to give myself plenty of time to edit and revise where necessary. It will be posted, in multiple parts, (maybe 6 😉) on this feed at least a few hours before tip tomorrow.

@TimGarrisonMN
Spittin
Edwards wouldn't be ascending like this without this team around him
He'd still be special, of course, but it wouldn't be THIS
Great trade
He also averaged his lowest number of assists against any team during the four matchups against the Wolves this year. His assists went down by over half, (9.0 to 4.3) while his turnovers went up. Three of the games the Wolves didn't have Towns, who they prefer to have mainly on…
@TWolvesRise
@NBA_University
I think Rudy is a top 3 big in the league. He's one of the best defenders ever. Jokic is averaging 28 this year against them, which is above average for him. Good offense always beats good defense.
@schm1dt29
@NadineBabu
As a Wolves fan – love Nikola Jokic. Loved watching this Denver team grow, hated watching them essentially miss two chances in the playoffs when Jamal got hurt, or we might've been talking about a three peat last year. A healthy version of the Nuggets is probably the best team in…
Nuggets Series Preview Part Two: Nuggets team overview, and a little bit on how both teams have approached the matchup in the recent past
The Nuggets starting 5 is probably the best in basketball, led, obviously, by Jokic. Jokic is the current undisputed best player in the NBA,…
@aflyontheball
I about it extensively in my first article covering the recent history of the team, with a focus on Anthony Edwards, but Ant was absolutely unbelievable last year
@TWolvesLead
Watching the entire national media get exposed for not watching the Wolves all year even though they would've been the
#1
seed if KAT hadn't gone down has been so satisfying
@JonKrawczynski
Wolves need to be excellent on the defensive glass, particularly against Braun and Watson. They also need to be smart about floor spacing, and hustle back in transition defense. Watson and Braun are both limited offensive players, who hurt the half court offense of the Nuggets.…
No one in the first half could make a shot other than Ant. Refs doing everything but pull off their uniforms and revealing Nuggets jerseys underneath. Still a 4 point game. I think Wolves fans should be feeling extremely encouraged considering all that
@TheDailyWolves
Perk definitely has some questionable takes, especially when he first started at ESPN. Felt like he was being a little over the top at times to get attention when he first became an analyst. That said a lot of his points were great from the beginning, and he's only gotten better…
@NadineBabu
@MinnesotaMunn
The fans will always care, but it seems like anytime a team breaks this kind of drought it's partially because the players just don't really think about it and focus on doing their thing. Reminiscent of the '04 Red Sox
@T_x_Wolves
Gonna be sad for a few days if that's how it goes, but yes. Jokic is incredible, the Nuggets are an incredible team full of good dudes. Nothing but respect for that organization and their fans
@aKt1vOnFire
@HoodieNaz_
If we're just talking this specific playoffs I agree. I give Luka some benefit of the doubt for his incredible play in the past, across regular seasons and playoffs
One of the best playoff basketball games I can remember watching. Ever. And it's just Game 1. Of the Second Round. Denver never trailed in a playoff series last year. They went up 3-0 on the Lakers before winning in 5. They trail the Wolves 1-0. There's something truly special…
@TimGarrisonMN
@WillCEudy
As a Seattle native, someone who became a fan of the Timberwolves after our Sonics were stolen almost 20 years ago, I of course agree expansion coming soon would be very good for the league. Seattle in particular is a massive dormant basketball market, with incredible potential
