Excellent summary of Tavi and Cristian's recent work. Thanks @JamesMDewar!
It was a pleasure to write this @embojournal news and views about two wonderful papers from @TDDeego and Karim Labib: https://t.co/XatmDHc7E1 I highly recommend these papers. Thanks to @HVodermaier for the opportunity! 🫶🧪

CMG helicase disassembly is essential and driven by two pathways in budding yeast Karim Labib and colleagues show that Pif1-family helicases mediate an ancestral pathway for ‘old’ #replisome disassembly during the subsequent S-phase https://t.co/pCwkNuzxgB

Brilliant to see our talented postdoc, Cristian, publish his work on CMG disassembly in @embojournal. The culmination of his PhD work in the Labib lab at @dundeeuni. @TDDeego

And finally … was also a pleasure to be involved in Cristian and Karim’s work @mrcppu, describing, amongst other things, a new replisome disassembly pathway driven by Rrm3, also out today in @embojournal

Special well done to our lab’s first ever PhD student Tavi, as well as @simopelliciari and Emma - a real team effort - and @embojournal for an excellent publishing process

Interestingly, the Rrm3 recruitment mechanism we uncovered is largely conserved with the metazoan helicase RTEL1, consistent with the previously suggested functional analogy between Rrm3 and RTEL1

New paper from my group, in which we use the combined power of AlphaFold and biochemical reconstitution to determine how the Rrm3 helicase is targetted to the eukaryotic replisome https://t.co/r6cdK9VvkD

Today, the country goes to the polls. The nation decides its future. This is our chance to vote for change. We’ve had 14 years of Tory government, 5 Prime Ministers, but the result is the same - decline and chaos. Don’t waste this opportunity. Vote Labour. 🌹
