I have reduced my activity on X to mostly lurking. Posts related to my research will now exclusively be on the other place. It’s a lot nicer there. DM for invite codes.

Christoph Markschies @markschies writes about his recent visit at Mount Athos (and more ...).

This text is not actually attributed to Symeon Metaphrastes (except in an early edition). It is more rightly considered anonymous. It draws on a variety of traditions (Pseudo-Clementines, Acts of both Peter and Paul, Xanthippe and Polyxena, Apostolic Lists, etc.).
Added to e-Clavis: Christian apocrypha ~ Hypomnema on Peter and Paul, attributed (likely erroneously) to Symeon Metaphrastes. Compiled by Tony Burke.

Come join me at Fisher Library in Toronto for an exploration of Ethiopian manuscript culture. This event is sponsored by the University of Toronto, Bikila Award, and the Mellon Foundation. I'm excited to be a part of a gathering that places community involvement at the forefront.

On Friday, I put together a Greek synopsis of #POxy5575, Matt, Luke, and Thomas for my own use. But I thought others might find it useful. Feel free to use and share. It’s here: https://t.co/8OY2QLu6Wi
