Yes! The U.S. administration must stop leveraging the threat of tariffs on the EU in exchange for weakening digital and competition policies. EU digital laws are designed to ensure that companies, everywhere, will respect consumers’ rights.

Rather than escalating trade tensions, TACD calls for U.S.-EU cooperation to address shared challenges, such as tackling the influx of unsafe products sold online. Aligning customs enforcement across the Atlantic could strengthen consumer protections & benefit the global economy.

The EU/U.S. consumer protection group alliance has helped deliver strong protections for people on both sides of Atlantic, inc. health, food safety, privacy, antitrust. Anna Fielder has been key to its success, which will continue under Lea Auffret from BEUC.

Léa Auffret has been appointed by the Steering Committee as the next TACD director. After two decades at the helm of TACD Secretariat, Anna Fielder will be stepping down this year.
