Writing order for fluid restriction also causes pts to be labeled non-compliant when they don’t adhere. The truth is they can’t adhere because it’s torture. These labels in the chart can have longstanding impact

Agree @AndrewJSauer. I never write for fluid restriction in awake patient. Thirst is extremely uncomfortable and forcing it is cruel, imo. Besides it doesn’t work long-term. @VorovichHeartMD @shelleyhallmd @amitalamMD @MKIttlesonMD @WilcoxHeart
