With @WombsNotForRent we are gravely worried about people meeting on social media to pursue surrogacy. This surrogate mother was paid £16k “expenses”: a clear financial motivation. @DHSCgovuk no form of surrogacy is safe. It cannot be well “regulated”. Ban it now.

@JamesTGallagher We are sitting on a ticking time bomb as hundreds of children abroad are being born from single donors, and are bound to meet. Worth remembering- HFEA here does not require Enhanced Carrier Screening of egg donors. We need to tighten the law on gamete donation now @DHSCgovuk

We understand some people desperately want to be parents, but importing eggs from Argentina (yes, really) and sperm from Denmark is cruel to the donor conceived person, and is fuelling a global trade in gametes which only serves to enrich fertility clinics. @JamesTGallagher
