Launched in 2019. Here to fight against UK proposals on law reform and raise awareness of the darker side of #surrogacy.

"At 35 weeks I lost the baby and my womb. I ended up losing 3 litres of blood and needed an emergency hysterectomy. This is what can happen." This was a UK surrogacy arrangement in a family and the woman thought she was helping. This woman now considers herself lucky to be alive.

More on this Escrow #surrogacy scandal as the FBI continues to investigate. “In the last three years, there have been at least four instances in which keepers of surrogacy-related escrow accounts stole funds from hopeful parents.” https://t.co/sQT1zk1EpM

Dozens of clients and surrogates were left panicked and in the dark after the agency’s owner seemingly disappeared. One intended parent, Mariana Klaveno, is missing $66,000.
New #surrogacy scandal exposes Surrogacy Connections, a US agency run by a surrogate mother which has ‘ceased operations’, leaving surrogate mothers pregnant and in legal and financial limbo. This follows a similar case of Dominique Side and SEAM, resolved earlier this year.

Not pictured in this beacon of equality and kindness, a woman who needed the money, stitched, bleeding, with empty arms.

From our consultation submission: “By industrialising #surrogacy in Australia a new market will be built on women’s bodies, both at home and abroad.” ⬇️⬇️⬇️ Read Kat Karena’s blog below.

#Surrogacy like prostitution lacks genuine volunteers. The gap is filled by extreme poverty and human trafficking. Surrogate mothers and women who have their eggs extracted suffer immensely and some die. No one should be supporting this industry.

Some women believe their eggs were taken without consent. Others were pressured to sell them to pay their “debt.” Egg theft. Ovarian hyperstimulation. Hemorrhages. Hysterectomies. This is reproductive violence.

Absolutely stunning, lengthy write up from @nytimes on a Chinese gang luring foreign women to Georgia to be used as surrogates and harvest their eggs. We all must be aware of this new and novel, and dangerous form of trafficking Excerpts below. https://t.co/IyqeiVJ8EL

Most of Europe bans #surrogacy. France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Sweden, Norway and Switzerland all prohibit *all* forms of this harmful practice. Germany has just gone further and strengthened their law. The UK is an outlier.
#Germany Good news‼️ The Higher Administrative Court of North Rhine-Westphalia strengthens the protection of women and children: ✅ The legal prohibitions on surrogacy and egg donation are not merely theoretical. They can, in fact, protect the individual rights of specific
