Laura Kuenssberg: “This year could make or break Sir Keir Starmer’s government” 24 hours is a long time in politics never mind an entire year, but I’m reasonably sure Kuenssberg never started the first show of the year saying similar things about a Tory government #bbclaurak

My experience as one of her ministers when @KemiBadenoch was Business Secretary was that she understood and was 💯 behind small businesses Our announcements that we’ll scrap Stamp Duty and Business Rates for most pubs, shops and restaurants are 💯small business measures.

@afneil @BillyB_UK They’ve been in Government for 18 months and have demonstrably taken the country backwards on every front. Whether it is the economy, immigration, civil liberties, crime or allowing rampant anti-semitism, they are truly disgraceful. They will be shot down in 2029.

Like smash the people smuggling gangs? Or growth growth growth. Or our spending plans are fully costed. Or there will be no need for major rises in taxes. Or … oh just add your own.

Not only did PM Starmer claim credit for the fall in inflation and the stock market rally in his interview with BBC'S Laura Kuenssberg, but he also had the temerity to try and hang the banking crisis on the previous government, when it happened under Labour's rule! Staggering!

It's what the country's crying out for. Starmer's lost the plot. Farage never had one. Only the Conservatives have a plan to get our country back on its feet.

This comment nails it. Reform thrives in low-turnout locals, but a General Election is a different beast entirely. When turnout rises, people slow down, think twice, and realise Farage is unserious — all noise, no plan, constant U-turns, chasing popularity instead of governing.

@SlyForTheRight I've been convinced of that for a while. I think support for Reform is over estimated. They're doing well in low turn out local elections, but when it will come to a general election, then that's an entirely different matter.

Kemi Badenoch nails it 👇 Reform isn’t a serious party. It promises everything to everyone — tax cuts and ballooning welfare, lower spending and higher giveaways. That maths doesn’t work and it never will. Leadership means taking a stand and sticking to it, not chasing every
