My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And itโs been the best

Absolutely wild story. A Baltimore County principal was seemingly caught on recorded audio making blatantly racist and anti-Semitic comments. After investigation... the audio was fake. AI-generated, in a plot by the school's former athletic director.

Everyone who reads this thinks they would never fall for a scam like this, but the truth is you would. You just have no idea how you will react when your emotions are toyed with to this level. Everyone is capable of being abused, manipulated, and scammed. https://t.co/FjKTiN9eBy

Scams will get better. Evasion odds will not. That's reality. Only fools think they're too smart to be scammed. But scammers will never know your "family password" that you only whisper to your loved ones upon establishing it and then change once it's ever used out loud.

But in this story, a "family password" would've helped a father realize his son wasn't actually going to jail, a scenario the father was led to believe based on an AI manipulated phone call featuring his son's voice. This tactic will become more common. https://t.co/H01jq1D6Z2

Granted, this wouldn't have helped much in the scam carried out in the original story above due to the nuances of that particular scam. For that, I'll just say that anytime anyone is asking for money, you've just got to be extra skeptical. Not super helpful, I know.

My parents had us use it when my siblings and I were younger, before we had phones. If someone wanted to pick us up from school for an unexpected reason, they'd have to say the password. It was a slightly silly phrase but instantly recognizable. And once used, we'd set a new one.

This will sound silly but everyone needs to have a "family password" that only a small group of people know, especially in an era where AI-generated content is becoming more difficult to discern from reality.

Very proud of this cover story for the @PghBizTimes, which reports on how the workforce's tech tango with AI, robotics, and automation is dancing into a science fiction-like future that's now here. What this means for workers is hard to predict, but the impact is only growing.
