10 years ago today we launched @BBCTheOneShow. Very proud to have been involved since day 1. Still a joy to work on.
#OTD 2006 'The One Show' debuted ten years ago (to the minute) @bbconeshow @bbcone

Sorry to hear about the death of Mark Tully. Anyone who worked in India for the BBC instantly became the beneficiary of his wisdom, kindness, humour and, above all, reputation. In India Mark Tully was the BBC. An absolute giant.

Amazing how protests in Iran silence accounts claiming to be in Scotland.
A network of social media accounts posing as Scottish independence supporters has fallen silent once again, closely mirroring a fresh shutdown of internet access inside Iran. Click image for more. https://t.co/awKFUzX59l

London struggles with petty crime (shoplifting, snatch theft) but levels of serious crime (assault, murder) have just fallen to the lowest since records began. The drop in murders of under-25s is particularly striking...

This isn’t true, esp. compared to European news services. US news shows rarely interview academics, esp. outside STEM. Look at the Sunday morning shows - ostensibly the peak of serious US journalism. The roundtables are almost always journalists talking to other journalists
"On too many stories, the press has missed the story. Because we've taken into account the perspective of advocates and not the average American. Or we put too much weight in the analysis of academics or elites, and not enough on you." That changes now. The new CBS Evening News

Fellow TV nerds may appreciate this live stream from a BBC GNAT clock generator https://t.co/lPxsvHQPAL (It's the prototype - hence the funky artwork demonstrating all the features)

I didn't know I had a body double...Russian TV clearly thinks I do. At Vladimir Putin's press conference a reporter did a live interview with 'Steve Rosenberg' (but it wasn't me).

I’ve been puzzling over this too. BBC radio broadcast new productions of his stage plays during those years but nothing new. So I think it’s probably bullshit, sadly.
This anecdote is hooey. Stoppard didn’t write for BBC radio for a decade between 1972 and 1982. He also didn’t write a screenplay before 1975. There’s no mention of his proposed involvement in any story about the production of Jaws I’ve ever seen.

This viral video, which claims Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has bought the huge Pathfinder Ranches in Wyoming for $79m, is false and shares similarities with a major Russia-based influence operation that creates fake videos and websites to spread falsehoods about

Busy little day - I may sound like a scratched record but I love our team. The One Show Production Management, Editorial, Guest Producers, Presenters and just as importantly our amazing crew always pull it out of the bag.

Fascinating joint talk by the IET and the RTS on 100 years of TV. John Logie Baird’s grandson gave a fascinating talk, amongst others.

According to these viral posts, not only did the Israeli government kill Charlie Kirk, but they've threatened Trump that he could be next if he reveals the truth, and are also planning a false flag terrorist attack in the US to cover it all up. Sounds really alarming, but

It is a source of constant pride to walk past such an inspiring mission statement - carved into the very walls! - every time I arrive at BBC HQ in London. Written by G Orwell, keeping watch over his former employer while having a quick smoke.

The church is currently on the road heading to new Kiruna and soon the bell tower will make the same journey. What a feat of engineering, driving this almost 700'000 kilo building 5 kilometers. Tomorrow I'll show it driving past where I work. Will be strange.
