Small meat has become one of my favourite breakfasts. Lamb fried with spices, tomato and lots of oil. Served by a lot of arabic/central Asian places. This is Watan, an Afghan place on Smithdown Road. The hot, fresh, kitchen made bread makes an enormous difference.

Castro's in the city centre is rightly famous for its' sandwiches but the tortilla is also excellent, and interesting. It's got a chunky but creamy exture, think I has lots of garlic too.

Accidentally ordered far too much at Namu Oru Dosa off Edge Lane last night. Great, cheap, simple, Sri Lankan place. Especially enjoyed the lentil soup, deep fried cauliflower and of course a dosa.

Yes, we live in a timeline in which the axis of three dictatorial totalitarian powers openly join hands to erase a 40-million European nation as Western decision-makers are still obsessed with making sure they are not crossing lines in helping it.

Loving the home made italian food and cake at a Dante society event in Mossley Hill sports club. Wish you could get this style in restaurants here!

I think about the "Old Redhead's" lesson every day since. We're all constantly surrounded by MVPs...we just have to think of them that way, every day. 13/

A very niche tweet, but if like me you miss the old @tom_ravenscroft show on Radio 6 I've found the @jamzsupernova show is a great and fairly similar alternative. Last one here: https://t.co/0OdrIiit7f Skip straight to the live KOKOKO! session to get moving.

Tried the new gulf restaurant style Arabic place off Duke Street, underground and has little curtained off areas to eat while sat on the floor. Food good, similar level to some other local places, bit below personal faves (e.g. real taste and sheba). Okra stew was great.

Introduced to a Kurdish asylum family last week in Stockbridge. This week they brought me treats. People who have little, being very generous. π«£
