Midland Main Line on the East Coast Main Line! 43159 and 43089 get a shift on they head south from Peterborough this evening with 1Z44, the back working of the @125Group and @UKRailtours 'Locomotion and Weardale' railtour. Great to see an HST in full song again. #intercity125

Out for a walk this afternoon and managed to capture 91106 'Swallow' coming off the Nene Viaduct at Peterborough, slowing for Platform 4 while it worked 1D21 1603 King's Cross - Leeds. @LNER @225groupuk

Trying to get a Doctor's appointment is a challenge, trying to get a driving test is next level! I'm in the 'queue' again to try and book a test for my partner's child. They passed their theory test in October 2024, no tests since then @DVSAgovuk @transportgovuk @BBCLookEast

Took a wander out to stretch my legs just after lunch and stumbled across a pair of Intercity 225 workings. DVT 82222 leads 1A31 towards London (91114 shoving), and 91110 heading up 1D17 as it slows for Peterborough. A very gloomy February afternoon for photography! @225groupuk

Out on the Southern Region today working with @HastingsDiesels to operate their railtour to Winchester, remembering Mick Tester. Mick was passionate about the Hastings DEMUs and worked tirelessly to ensure that 1001 was always immaculately presented. He is missed immensely.

Twenty years ago today at Clapham. 33201 on a light engine move, 170307 with a service from Salisbury, a 12 car Class 423 VEP from Portsmouth and 2424 heading to Waterloo from Wareham.

I have no words. Absolutely chilling to watch, my blood has run cold. .
A particularly chilling and outrageous “accident” from Texas today. Listening to the horns of the locomotive I know my colleagues were still at their posts right up to impact. Can you believe it that the truck was stuck on the crossing for 1 HOUR before the train hit it at 70mph?

Finally heading out of London for York, but going the scenic way via Sheffield, @LNER having arranged ticket acceptance with @EastMidRailway. Time to get my head into the recently released 'Changing Times, Change Trains' book by Richard Brown. It should be an interesting read!

Severe delays on ECML due to a fatality. Very sad and thoughts with those involved, even more so at this time of the year. Not a problem to me as I'll ride out the delay and get some work done while having a cup of tea. At least I would do if the lounge was open at KGX @LNER 🤷
