I think it'd be pretty cool if this Sonic series took some inspiration from that one platforming series where the character can curl up into a ball and have the platforming affected by the terrain like picking up speed downhill. I think it could make for an interesting concept
It’s no secret Sonic was inspired by BOTW with Sonic Frontiers, and imo I’d take that over following Mario any day.

Advance Amy is one of the most fun characters in a sonic game for me. I think it's really a shame she's basically gonna be sonic with an extra move like most other characters now. Advance gave her something much more unique especially with how you interact with the environment.

Sonic stories thrived off a consistent air of positivity behind it thanks to the man himself so down times hit MUCH harder. All that depression never made for that great a sonic plot. Shadow's story in sa2 and even later games never dragged to boredom or constant bait for pity.

I used to hate this character. I didn't like her because I'd only heard about the romance, I'd only seen furry jokes and she'd always be defined by the slap. Then I sat down and read the comics in earnest. She then became one of my favourites across every iteration of the series.

It's a tired conversation but no spark fans, this is not how you sell a game to an audience.
Additionally. If I played these games judging them as "replicating sa3" I can tell you right now that I would rip them to shreds because this is an entirely different type of game.
The blame is almost entirely on Sonic Team's incompetence of basically doing the most basic things like making the gameplay fun, and focusing on grandiose ambitions to reinvent Sonic instead.
It's really embarrassing considering one guy literally just made what's basically SA3
