not to mention people you know who are healing from that kind of harm, some of whom probably haven’t even told you what they’ve been through, are seeing how you speak on this. and now they know not to come to you. you’re not safe.

but it’s not normal. it’s not harmless. let’s be very clear: emotional and mental manipulation and things of the like is still abuse!! the “well at least he didn’t hit her” pipeline is why so many people don’t take survivors seriously until it’s too late.

do you hear how insane that sounds?.you’ve normalized men doing cruel shit so deeply that anything short of physical violence becomes excusable. you’ve convinced yourselves that mistreatment is just part of the deal, something to power through, laugh off, or ignore.
