I largely agree with this. They may also have to overcome any childhood trauma. But actively taking responsibility for changing their life can be very empowering.
Depressed men need power, not to feel loved. Depressed men need the power to create change in their life, to overcome obstacles, and to pursue meaning. Trying to make a depressed man feel loved will instead make him feel pitied and ashamed, like a charity case and a burden.

This is so sad. This is straight narcissism. We’ve failed millions of children in this country by raising boys to think that being a good father is about material provision than it is having daily physical, emotional, & spiritual presence and connection in the home. 🤦🏽♂️

The data is stacked so high on this that it’s frustrating to see people ignore it. Giving single moms more money will not keep boys from deviant behavior or emotional struggles. The best protection against young men struggling is fathers or father-figures, period. We have data!
