This year Oakland had its heart ripped out by the A’s and now loses part of its soul too. Rickey Henderson grew up in Oakland. RIP to the “Man of Steal.” He was a weapon in every way. Power at leadoff. Terror on the basepaths. All flair. There will never be another. 💛💚

Some interesting thoughts in this thread. It is time for some deep reflection after a lot of sadness, disbelief, & fear the last few days.
That was a cataclysm. Electoral map wipeout. Senate D practical ceiling is now 52 seats. R's is 62. Time to rebuild the left. We are out of touch with the crisis of meaning/purpose fueling MAGA. We refuse to pick big fights. Our tent is too small. 1/ Some early thoughts:

One bright spot: Despite hundreds of millions in anti-LGBTQ+ ads this election, every incumbent LGBTQ+ member of Congress was reelected and newcomers Sarah McBride, Emily Randall, and Julie Johnson are joining their ranks. Even amidst the darkness, there is progress.
