Liz that is Spoken Injustice's tag line: "There is no greater Injustice than the one delivered by the very system that has been entrusted with preventing it.” How does one change? Change starts with one loud voice and grows with every shout after. Small wins fuel the big fight!.

@KingOfHits @EmpowerInnocent @ccrcupdate @Lewislegal2024 @JENGbA @ScottDuhig @SpokenInjustice @thetwerkinggirl @rluthersmith @hanksoff03 @franticworry @seanbwparker There can be nothing more terrible than discovering that those responsible for administering justice are the very people who are causing the injustices. I know many who live with this knowledge, but I struggle with it. It is not a happy conclusion and how does one change it?.

Today’s Hope On Repeat quote comes from Arthur C. Clarke; a powerful reminder that justice often resides in the grey areas, just beyond the edge of what seems possible. Challenging a conviction built on uncertain ground isn’t naïve, it’s essential.

Individual resignations won’t fix systemic failings. To truly challenge injustice, the CCRC needs top-down reform, bringing in lived experience, defence lawyers, grassroots activists and ex-investigative journalists, all appointed by an independent, multi-stakeholder panel.

We welcome this resignation, which we at APPEAL have long been calling for. Ultimately the CCRC needs a completely fresh senior leadership team, made up of individuals with a track record of challenging injustice.

Brilliant analysis by Bristol grad Avery Thomson of mine & Ava Vidal’s ETI 2025 speeches: “In this sense, the justice system becomes not anti-accused or anti-accuser, but anti-victim.” Thank you, Avery. You captured the essence perfectly @EmpowerInnocent.

Today’s inspirational quote comes from Vernon Sanders Law, who recognised one of the hardest truths about life: the challenges we face often come first; the lessons they teach us usually come later.

Mental confinement may well be the most profound and limiting form of imprisonment known to humankind; sadly, it's far from rare. Dr. Naughton, I couldn't agree more; I only wish I had your gift for expressing it so poignantly 🙌.

This week’s video was delayed due to some frustrating IT issues. But we decided to turn that into an opportunity. Instead of a standard update, we have created a candid video explaining who we are, what we do and, just as importantly, what we do not do.

Is Dame Vera Baird the right choice to lead the CCRC? Her previous roles and public advocacy may raise questions about the Commission’s perceived independence and public confidence.

I agree that there tends to be louder public outcry when legitimate prosecutions are dropped than when wrongful convictions come to light, though there should be just as much outrage for both.

The notion that such authorities have not been doing their jobs properly is given such credence, but NOT when it applies to false convictions in evidence-free trials 🤔
