A high school kid who hits 23 mph cannot tolerate a training load of what a 20 mph kid can unless you train them like a 20 mph athlete. Which is training the 23 mph kid to be slow.

Every skill player who came off the field last night was handed a gummy worm to eat. The results: we were still hitting 17s going into the half.

You can condition all you want, but there’s still going to be a degradation from the first play to the last play. The question is: how can we degrade at a slower rate than our opponents? The answer: gummy worms.
