Agreed. The poll question doesn’t accurately represent the proposal, so the results are not much use. I still think voters will not embrace Newsom’s actual plan though.
Love my pollster friends and I know it’s hard to poll on a potential ballot measure that isn’t out yet… but this isn’t what @GavinNewsom is proposing. If you poll eliminating the commission altogether and giving it to the legislature you’re going to get a bad result.

Trump’s Gallup approval rating has fallen to 37%, the lowest of any president ever at this point in his term. The average for presidents after 6 months in office is 59%. The only other president this unpopular at this stage was Trump in his 1st term. Only his GOP base likes him.

The monthly jobs report was terrible, the stock market, dollar and bond yields are dropping as a result, so of course Trump’s reaction is to fire the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics & accuse her of doctoring the data. There, economy fixed!.

>@SenAlexPadilla was not arrested, and I don’t see how he could’ve been. He’s a US senator working in the federal building. He tried to ask a question. For those demanding he be arrested, for what crime? He didn’t commit one.
If that’s what they do to a United States Senator with a question, imagine what they can do to any American that dares to speak up. We will hold this administration accountable.

This is a bizarre answer to a question about tariffs. I’m not sure what he’s talking about, since almost every weapon the USA uses is made in America, except for a very few sourced from European allies and Israel. None of our arms come from “foreign adversaries.” Why would they?.

Gotta wonder if the Cardinals deliberately chose Robert Prevost, an American, partly as a foil and counterbalance to President Trump, whom he’s criticized. Pope Leo XIV has devoted his life to serving the poor and marginalized, and seems likely to continue Francis’ reforms.
