Sharing some more old coaching content... 🧠 Here's my first ever '𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹' that I put together in 2019 just 1 year into my coaching journey. It's fascinating to look back at old work to see what your thoughts & ideas were at different stages of your development.

❌ BIG COACHES MISTAKE ❌ One of the biggest mistakes in youth ages is prioritizing the GAME MODEL rather than the INDIVIDUAL FOUNDATIONS. The best way to improve your GAME MODEL is to have capable players that dominate the INDIVIDUAL FOUNDATIONS. PRIORITIES.

A clearer understanding of player roles has the potential to immediately make your team better.

As coaches we feel like we have all the answers & sometimes spend most of the practice talking. Listening to coaches talk doesn’t get players better. Decision-making makes players better. Talk less, practice in game like conditions & let them practice finding their own solutions!

All coaches should have a clear Game Model around the 4 key phases of the game, with common language and game metric targets to hit in each phase. Focus: Attacking Transition Within Attacking Transition we look to 'Possess' or 'Progress' the ball within 3 passes of regaining
