Strength training is the fountain of youth. Not Zumba. Not Pilates. Not yoga. Not running. Not burpees ( @benbruno1 lol) Strength training is the most effective tool to keep your body strong, mobile, and functional for a lifetime.

Pro tip of the day: Stagnation periods are part of the game, and don’t necessarily reflect a lack of progress. Learn to enjoy the process. I know, it sounds cliché but it’s the truth..

Taking care of yourself is an essential part of taking care of others. In fact, the healthier the tree, the better the fruit it can offer.

Training should be fun. You should enjoy the foods included in your diet. Kindness and compassion towards yourself is paramount, but so is tough love, when needed. Stop trying to fit yourself into a diet or an exercise, your diet/ exercise routine should fit you.

Your diet has to fit you. Your preferences, lifestyle, goals, eating behavior, and relationship with food are some of the factors to be considered when choosing your dietary / eating habits. You don’t need to ‘fit’ the diet.

Your trainer isn’t your drill sergeant. Your trainer should be able to properly cue you during exercises, work on improving your weaknesses while increasing body’s resiliency in preparation FOR LIVE. Meaning , improving quality of life and wellbeing.

For longevity, health and wellness: 1. Strength train x3 week 2. Perform your favorite cardiovascular exercise on most days of the week ( walking works for most) 3. Manage stress- mediation/ breathing etc 4. Sleep enough 5. Hydrate and take multi& omega 6. Eat mostly Whole Foods

You cannot shape fat, So your focus should be on adding muscle if you want to shape your body. Cardio won’t do it for you. Happy lifting 💪🏼

@SivanFagan @benbruno1 Hi I'm Sivan and I'm always on the money, blah blah blah 😉 Agree for sure, with the right guidance, there's so much that can be done to benefit mobility, posture, injury prevention/reduction, movement quality, strength, athleticism, aesthetics etc that nothing else can boast.

My body was built on straight sets, while focusing on progressive overload. My mass wsn’t built by complicated dropsetRestPauseSuperset workouts. Only once I built a good foundation, I added advanced techniques to finetune and add detail work. Respect the basics. They ‘work’.

I don’t care who you are. Or what your goals are. You DO NOT need a “new program” every week. That’s not how training programs work. Stop this. Follow the plan for 6 weeks, make progress, and actually get gains.

If you’re a female, you had babies, and you constantly ‘feel tight’ in the hamstrings, shoulders, back and so on—> You don’t need more stretching. You need more strengthening.

Gyms in some locations are starting to reopen, and others will follow soon. But there's a lot to take into account to do so safely. Thanks @AmeshAA, @chad_petit, and Dr. Waleed Javaid of @IcahnMountSinai for breaking it all down for @SELFmagazine.

Physique focused strength training principles haven’t changed now that you’re home. A little creativity and thinking outside the box go a long way. Don’t turn your workout into a circus Training, as there are many ways to keep progressively overload at home.

Killer single-leg work and pre-exhaust supersets were some of the key takeaways for me and my sad tiny pile of light dumbbells. Plus some other awesome tips from @tonygentilcore1, @danegerousfit, and @SivanFagan for @SELFmagazine. https://t.co/Dh9iw0A7KU
