Music lovers and music analysts I have a question... Why did the Sungura sound fail to make waves on the international scene? I suspect its not language, I have listened to DRC music without understanding the words... What lacked in Sungura?

1/2: Funds permitting, this year I might do #TheHosiahRoadTrip with Hosiah Chipanga whose music has always fascinated me. The idea is to explore the various languages bunched together under chiShona by the coloniser: Manyika, Ndau, Korekore and many others.
