I once visited a Zim embassy somewhere in the "1st World" and I was addressed in Shona. I responded in IsiNdebele because I understood what she was saying.
The lady told me ukuthi she does not understand IsiNdebele. I said let´s talk in English nxa kunjalo.

Why do staff at the Zimbabwean embassy in London still insist on speaking to people in Shona before establishing that they speak the language. Please, if you work at the embassy in London- remember that not every Zimbabwean speaks or wants to speak Shona.
