Development is a calculated plan!
And I LOVE the off season training.
Here is 2023 2nd RD Pick Blake Wolters.
To start~
Knowing where they are, what their timeline is (MILB’ers/HS/College) and what their goals are, is huge and necessary to begin. Without Divulging into
Senior catcher who’s team was 1-9 and winning against a ranked SEC team into the bottom of the 9th. Really understand the passion before you say “you just can’t do that”
In my first college DH. My dad flipped me a Gatorade. I was 24 YO, with a deployment to the Middle East under my belt.
Thank God no one saw it, would have hate to be judged by

Remember the time your season got cancelled. Throwing plyo balls into mattresses, lifting with the lights off so no one knew you were there, making concrete weights, and finding a way to get better while the entirety of sports stopped. Enjoy the games, keep going, LFG.
Today we GET to play baseball.
But, we don’t have to worry about terror or air strikes. We go about our day and not worry about Nuclear attacks. Do not forget how lucky and fortunate we are, and don’t lose the human aspect of caring for people who don’t get that luxury.

This was 5 years ago in the Middle East and if I get recalled before April 22nd, you better believe I’ll have all my driveline stuff with me doing pivot picks into my tank. And that would be about as JuCo as it gets.
10 years ago today, I joined the Marines. It was unplanned. 5 years ago today I got out of the Marines, played college baseball and now getting to coach. It was unplanned. Live where your feet are and you’ll see the world, and meet people who will impact your life forever. Rahh
My interpreter changed my life. Let’s get them to the United States. Because they have done more for America than the majority of people you know.

Every Baseball / Softball player should have the biggest chip on their shoulder this season. Losing a season hurt but regretting effort is unbearable. ⌛️
QB Alex Smith will go down as one of the best Comebacks in football.
And people who have never been hurt, still will not understand.
Mentally a Machine.
I have accepted an Assistant Coach position at the University Of Illinois Springfield. Thank you

Depression & Anxiety will not discriminate. It doesn’t care who you are. Become self aware and look out for family and friends. End the stigma, mental health matters.
This Memorial Day weekend, flags will be flown at half-staff and NY landmarks will be illuminated in red, white & blue to honor essential workers who lost their lives to COVID-19.
We owe these brave individuals a profound thank you and hold them & their families in our thoughts.
The last Pitch,
For most people after their last pitch, it’s the end of the story. Getting to this point was far from ordinary, and it is far from over.
My journey in coaching is just getting started. And I can’t wait.

Holiday season is tough for many! It’s a time when the mind can really wonder. Remember that you can get through anything, no matter how tough it is. Reach out to those who matter and stay active!
Whether you like where we are at or not as a country. Many people sacrificed everything for us to even have an opinion. Take some time to step back and remember why we are able to do the things we do.
All gave some, some gave all ❤️🇺🇸

Beyond proud of this team. They were pushed, challenged, and fought through adversity every single day. All season they were the greatest players, teammates, and people a coach could ask for. No matter what was asked, they did it. They set the standard, our standard.

Winter months are coming and with that can come seasonal Depression, Anxiety, and stress. Acknowledging and being self aware helps tremendously. Prevent yourself from Isolation both physically and mentally.
Make goals-Meet Goals-Repeat.
These guys were challenged everyday, and strides were made. Extremely Proud of them all.

I have never seen
@DrivelineBB
attack, ridicule, or denounce any other training methods (not counting responding to them)
If someone has to tear down other ways of doing something to justify their way, it’s probably not the best way, and is more than likely a confidence thing
MLK day changed my life many years ago. You think what you say is always important.. but what you are supposed to hear and see is most important. Be the ear someone needs. End the stigma. This place is better with you here.❤️
Martin Luther king day will always be a day that I see differently than most. MLK 2016, I stopped a fellow Marine from ending his life. This changed a lot for me, how I see things, how I see people. When you see the signs act, not react, end suicide, end the stigma.
I called over 15 different schools, laughed at, turned away, and ignored. But Coach Wathen & Hightower gave me a chance to play baseball again right after the Marines, and I’ll always appreciate that and I’ll never forget that.
Thanks for everything Coach and the legacy you left. You did and still are impacting many. You’re missed, and I’m sure you’ll always be watching over us.
3 years ago I left the Marines to play baseball. I’ve gotten hurt (Tommy John), I’ve done the rehab, and now this year is the Coronavirus. I’m thankful for all of this because in life the best lessons are the hard ones, and the best routes are never easy.
At 24 I left the Marine corps to play baseball.
2018 25 -1st season ended 30 innings in. Misdiagnosed twice, TJ in august.
2019 26- 2nd missed the season for rehab
2020 27- 3rd coronovirus.
No matter what society thinks, you are never too old to do what you’ve always dreamed of
You’re going to have bad days
You’re going to have challenges
You’re going to struggle
But, when the bad day passes, the challenge is defeated, and the struggle is over.
You will have grown twice as much.

The idea of rolling out talent and expecting to win college games, is over.
Building relationships with Players, being intentional with development, and investing into your players more than you expect them to invest into your program.

Some guys look like they want to kill someone when they pitch,
Some pitchers look like the happiest people on earth on the mound,
Some have swag, some surely do not,
If they do the work, Let them be who they want to be, and you’ll get the results you want.
Happy 246th Birthday Marines!
I was fortunate enough to meet some of the best people I have ever come to know. The Marines gave me the opportunity to learn, to lead, and most importantly, impact lives
Leaders lead from the front but always eat last
I will never throw a pitch a pitch for Parkland, Yet the Head Honcho comes out at 9 pm when they just got back from a 4 day trip to Enid at 6:30, just so I can do my Rehab throwing. This is the kind of people parkland baseball has running the program. The Staff is unreal.
No one messes with Bob Gibson. No one bunts on him. He changed the game. He impacted so many lives. He was the OG of not landing in a fielding position. He was the pitcher my Dad referenced my entire childhood for pitching advice.

Today, my Dad is retiring from being the Mayor of East Alton where he was born and raised. He has put so many people before himself for 30+ years of public service. I cannot wait to see you enjoy anything and everything YOU want to do! Love you dad!
Connections are what it’s all about here, but to reconnect with someone I served with after 8+ years is incredible
Hope many of you got to see the Marine stand and talked with them, as it changed my life.
Assistant coaches are the backbone. Let them fail, succeed and everything in between. Growth through ownership and autonomy. Very fortunate for these guys.

Happy Birthday Marines
The Marine Corps Birthday followed by Veterans Day is always a great time to reflect. Over the the years I’ve realized each year how different life is in the Marines but also how similar now.
The goal to make an impact everyday remained true.

We have nothing scheduled today. But all of our players are in the weight room right now because they just want to be together.
I am heartbroken for them.
I will be continuing my Athletic and Academic career at Western Carolina University in NC. I wouldn’t be here without the Marines, my family and friends, coaches and trainers. Thank you all. We are just getting started.
