If you’re a college baseball guy starting the season, enjoy every part of it. Every game, at bat, bus ride, all of it. You only get to play this game for so long, don’t waste it by putting pressure on yourself to “perform”. Be you. Because most of the time that’s enough.

#Uncommitted John Miedreich (‘26, SC) continues a strong day at the plate, doubling here to the RCF gap. Spread + torqued LH base while keeping the hands and back elbow high. Compact + LD stroke. #BCS @PG_Scouting @PG_Coastal @PG_Uncommitted

John Miedreich (‘26, SC) posted a strong day at the dish, including this double to LCF. Wide LH frame w/ a spark plug mentality. Twitchy actions w/ barrel speed and hitterish traits. #BCS @PG_Scouting @PG_Coastal @PG_Uncommitted

Brendan is a special kid who constantly demands more from himself — on all fronts. The mental side, discipline, character, you name it. He’s the kind of guy you want in your lineup. And he’s continuing to tap into more and more potential. My DM’s are open. @bconnolly38

What is one thing that separates the best players in the game from everybody else? The ability to find certainty even if the outcomes aren’t there to support it. Good AB’s come and go. Certainty must remain.

A lot of times we attribute timing issues to hitters who are actually struggling w direction. Good direction along w good decel allows hitters to drive fb away yet still yank a mistake middle in. Gives hitters a bigger bandwidth for timing. ⁦@JacobMote16

College baseball guys: Christmas break is an opportunity to get stronger, faster, more tuned up. A lot of guys see it as a month to relax and take a break from getting after it. It’s obvious to coaches who put in work and who didn’t over break. Use it wisely.

College baseball guys: players that are afraid of making a mistake won’t play when it matters. How can you expect your coaching staff to trust you in big games if you don’t even trust yourself? The guys who make big time plays aren’t afraid of failure. Be that guy.

HS/College baseball guys: Letting negative thoughts dictate the way you play the game is a choice. I’ve been there, believe me. Below is a few of the tools that helped me overcome doubt when playing college baseball:

Almost every college baseball player I know has struggled with doubt affecting the way they play the game. So many people think you just have to “get over it”. Easier said than done. Here are a few ways that I overcame that doubt and how it changed the trajectory of my career:

Next time you’re on the field or in the cage, and you feel the self-doubt/bad energy creep in, check yourself. Check your body language. Sometimes a simple change in our energy/demeanor is the key to finding that aggressiveness needed to be good in this game.

This is what we like to call getting into “STATE”. Our brain chemistry is altered when we force our bodies to move with high levels of energy and fire - making it impossible to be consumed with negative thoughts.

It tricked my brain into being confident. Seriously. I would tell myself I was the best hitter in the field(even when I didn’t believe it) and that no one could straight up beat me. If they did, “they got lucky”. I know it sounds cocky, but it’s what I had to do to get locked in.
