Couldn’t have put it any better myself! Cycling this route on Sunday was scary but as a resident half way between Aber and Mach, it highlighted to me how manageable a commute it could be to either, esp if not distracted by staying alive @Amanwy @sasj @ClimateCymru @IWA_Wales

Really instructive, sometimes challenging, day with a great bunch of local cyclists testing out the viability/safety of the 18-mile cycle journey from Aberystwyth-Machynlleth.

Diwrnod Dau: Biosffer Dyfi @biosfferdyfi #ClimateCymruGreenTour People living between Aberystwyth and Machynlleth campaigned for their right to safe cycling and walking pathsways between their villages. The route -the A487- is dangerous. And the sun shone! #writingforclimate

3. Cycling with other people is always better, supporting each other (2 x punctures), protecting each other, sharing wildlife sightings en route and smiling the whole way. Diolch @saraPjones @Alun_Williams @sasj

But really it highlighted 3 things to me: 1. This route is easily manageable to cycle as a commute/school run/visit friends #ActiveTravel 2. There’s no way this is a safe route to use without drastic improvement to protect cyclists from other road users @EllenapGwynn @Amanwy

An amazing day cycling from Aber-Mach with a bunch of lovely folk living in the towns and villages along the route. ‘Only’ felt like our lives were in danger three times... badly overtaking cars and cycle lanes suddenly stopping/crossing the main road. #ActiveTravel #ClimateCymru
