Like something conjured up by Philip Dick+Douglas Adams+Rod Serling+Kubrick on a wild drunken romp, The Anomaly by @HerveLeTellier genre jumps from drama to sci-fi to black comedy to thriller to philosophical riddle & more. Deliriously & deliciously mind-bending .. loved it👌

The Lincoln Highway by @amortowles is an exhilarating romp of a road trip, a true ‘escapade’, with delightful quirky characters reminiscent of Dickens & Twain, x-rayed lovingly & empathically so we get what really makes them tick. It’s 576 pages short, wish it were a 1000 more👏🏽

Rahul Rawail’s book on his mentor Raj Kapoor is a delirious and outstanding riot of a read.. part homage, part memoir, part master-class :) If you’re a fan of either director or their work, if you’re a film student or a film lover… you absolutely have to read it :)

(2)Bedi dissects his part bohemian part spiritual life with brutal honesty, analyses his troubled relationships, the tragedy of his son’s death, the incredible stories of his amazing parents & way more. This must have been a very difficult book to write, it’s spectacular to read.

1. From Audrey Hepburn to Fellini & Leone, the Beatles to the Dalai Lama & scores more, @iKabirBedi autobiography bursts with all the entertainment & audacious anecdotes you’d expect of a film star in two industries (India & Italy). But it’s way, way more than that. (Contd)

(Contd) is the crisp, colloquial yet insanely insightful commentary of the crazily changing landscapes of media & politics across the last 40 years. It’s a terrific all access no-holds-barred no-punches-pulled birds eye view chronicle of not just how he, but also we, got to here.

Loved @virsanghvi ‘s ‘A Rude Life’ - an absolute pageturner, reads like a shot of caffeine to the brain. Tons of fab anecdotes of course, from Raj Kapoor to Haji Mastan, George Harrison to Bal Thackeray, Amitabh, Rajiv Gandhi & way more but what makes it particularly terrific ->

Sufi is insanely exciting - Shantaram meets Dickens - a dual memoir of two boys growing up in 1930s-60s Bombay where Mastaan & Vardha are new entrants, Dawood is a teen. Join author Aabid Surti, Sriram, Annie Zaidi & me this evening case free - if not do read Sufi, it's deadly👍

The Wandering Earth (Netflix) is an absolute stunner - insanely awesome, visually gorgeous, breathlessly paced, fabulously plotted with climax after climax ... and yet rooted in a terrific emotional family core. Fans of sci fi will be blown. Deserved an IMAX release.

What an exquisite & inspiring interview of Neil Gaiman by Tim Ferriss! Why he writes early drafts longhand, his process, stationery, the genesis of the awesome Graveyard Book, remembering Terry Pratchett & tons more, peppered with wonderful anecdotes. Absolute gold for writers.
In which @tferriss and I talk and talk and talk and talk and talk about writing...

A third of the way through Love, Death & Robots (Netflix) - easily the most exciting show I've seen in a while. Great stories, brilliant animation, glorious explosion of styles. Till now my favorite are the moving Good Hunting & the sardonic Three Robots.

Wonderfully written piece on breaking phone addiction. Much needed advice in today’s time when the enemy to Focus constantly lurks inches away from us in plain sight. Been intrigued by this since I read The Shallows, on how the Net is rewiring our brains. https://t.co/SXoztC6BqD

Loved Stanley Donen ... Singing in the Rain, Charade, Arabesque ... always thought some of the style, charm, humour in his work in part influenced Vijay Anand (my notion, could be wrong) Wonderful director ... RIP sir ..

The intriguing Kumbalangi Nights (eng subs) pits four loser brothers against the "perfect man" & superbly gear-shifts genres from a quirky family drama to a hyper creepy take on patriarchy as the perfect man with the perfect smile harbours another sinister primitive persona 👏🏽

Had no idea that the maximum numbers of tigers & elephants on the planet were in Karnataka! Huge admirer of Sir David Attenborough & look forward to Wild Karnataka, narrated by him & focussing on the diverse wildlife there. https://t.co/WPUo5xIoVs All the best @YasminPonnappa 👍
