🚨publication alert🚨 Our new study reveals how interspecific interactions shape predator space use in marine ecosystems. Using simulation modeling and telemetry, we found that sharks & rays preferentially select habitats based on safety over resources.

Spatial separation occurs where predator-prey relationships and intraguild predation (predators that will also consume competitors) are involved. Competitors spatially overlapped but exhibited nuanced differences in microhabitat use.
