I wish we would rethink the language we use to talk about car "accidents" or, in the case of this article, cars "colliding with" children. These terms obfuscate the fact that cars are in fact incredibly dangerous.

Many reasons 🚲>🚗, but among them: I love that bikes are uniquely associated with a person. In undergrad pals would recognize my bike on campus and leave notes. I know who's at work based on the bike rack outside my building. Hits differently than the sea of identical white SUVs.
