The students of Milwaukee deserve better than what they are getting from MPS. After receiving half a billion dollars in pandemic relief and narrowly passing another quarter billion dollar referendum, there is no excuse for this level of mismanagement.

It's despicable and frustrating to see activist professors prioritizing their agendas over the best interests of the vast majority of students. It's time for the legislature to take a serious look at where our money is going and ensure that education remains focused on learning.
Faculty and staff rally in support of protesters and condemn @UWMadison decision to send in police. They will be headed to Bascom Hall in a little bit.

We must protect both our girls and boys from these unconstitutional changes to Title IX.
The new Title IX rules from the Biden Administration compromise the safety and opportunities of women and girls all across our country. WILL Education Counsel @CoryJBrewer weighs in ⬇️

WMC was honored to participate in the ribbon cutting for @WasteManagement Germantown Recycling Facility. It is a truly impressive facility. Thanks to WM Area VP Frank Fello, @SenStroebel, @SenKnodl, Rep. Paul Melotik and @SummerfieldWmc.

I am very disappointed to see that the governor doesn’t seem to understand the importance of protecting girls’ sports. Vetoing this bill puts the safety and athletic opportunities for young female athletes at risk. This is a pro-girls’ sports bill, period.
BREAKING: I just vetoed Republicans’ anti-LGBTQ bill to ban trans and gender nonconforming kids from participating in school sports teams that align with their gender identity. LGBTQ kids deserve our love and respect and support just like any other kid.

I would like to thank @GovEvers for signing this bill and recognizing the severity of the problem going on in the Milwaukee Metro Area. I also want to thank @RepDonovan for all the work he has done in the Assembly to get this bill across the finish line.
Governor Tony Evers signs a bill into law that creates mandatory minimum sentences for people who flee police and cause serious injuries or death. He calls it a legacy for Erin Mogensen, a woman who was killed last fall by a driver being chased by Wauwatosa police. @tmj4

People are frightened to be on the streets in the Milwaukee area and this has been a frequent concern from constituents. The public is demanding action.

This is an issue that crosses partisan lines. It has bipartisan cosponsors in both houses, passed both committees and both houses with bipartisan votes. I am asking Governor Evers to sign Senate Bill 514, so these criminals start to face actual consequences.

🧵Yesterday, I joined my colleagues @RepDonovan and @Vanwanggaard in requesting that Governor Evers sign Senate Bill 514, which increases the penalties for fleeing an officer.

Allowing biological males to participate in female sports will deny deserving female athletes the recognition, scholarships, and university admissions that come with athletic achievement. Title IX exists to ensure equal opportunities for female athletes.

This is the legislature's THIRD attempt at providing tax relief for Wisconsinites. The governor's unwillingness to compromise is coming at the cost of our middle-class.
Gov. Tony Evers today vetoed a nearly $800 million income tax cut passed by Republicans, along with bills that would have increased the income tax credit for married couples and raised the amount of retirees' income exempt from the state income tax.

Today, I voted in favor of of a tax relief package that would return the state’s over $3 billion surplus back to Wisconsinites. With school funding at record levels and local governments receiving the largest increases in state history, a significant tax cut is extremely prudent.

Criminals are becoming emboldened by restrictions on the actions of police—we need to send a message that there consequences to not following lawful requests from officers.
Enhanced penalties for fleeing police, judicial security bills approved by Assembly https://t.co/Dahji8LuCH
