I’ve been blessed with so many opportunities over the years, but getting to adapt/direct the English dub of #PLUTO (out now on Netflix) is undoubtedly one of the dearest to me. The only thing soaring higher than Atom today is my heart. 😭

I’m not shading artists who are forced to work under those strictures—that sucks, and they have my sympathy! The game industry’s been a real abattoir in terms of how it treats rank-and-file devs, especially as of late. 🫡 But CEOs forcing/cheerleading AI use can pound sand. 😊

I’m not a concept artist, but as an actor and a writer it would be a soul-savaging insult if I were forced to iterate on AI slop—and the final product would be the worse for that aspect of its birth, irrespective of whether it shipped with those specific AI assets intact.

This is an important point! While the quality of these two AI dubs is indeed execrable, we need to draw an ethical line in the sand as to why they’re deserving of our scorn—the quality can/will improve, but the soullessness of the whole endeavor is forever baked into its bones.
Couldn't have said it better myself. And this is exactly why it's so important for the industry to take this seriously. This is as bad as it's ever going to sound. And a company like Amazon has the resources to improve. This isn't just about quality. It's about ethics. ❤️🔥
