You need to build multidisciplinary teams in primary health care by enabling them all to work and communicate together. It’s not just about bulk billing or GP’s. Health care is about wrapping services around patients not just one profession. #peoplesforum @SkyNewsAust @apaphysio

We need a government that is serious about access to care at the right time, right place by right practitioner. Our Medicare system has been great but it is old and outdated. We need a vision for the future and not just more funding. @apaphysio #physio #Election2025

$1.8B for public health - to reduce waiting lists and emergency waiting times. #Physio would be the key to offer high value non operative care and #physios in emergency can assist in throughput! @apaphysio

Better outcomes if investments were for ensuring access to the care that consumers need, when they need. Prevention, full scope, alternate pathways to care and it may not be through a GP. @apaphysio
We’re making the single largest commitment to Medicare since its creation in our Budget. More bulk billing, cheaper medicines and more Urgent Care Clinics will mean less pressure on families. #auspol #ausecon #budget25

An election budget and no real focus on health reform like improving access to quality multidisciplinary care, high value care or system changes to Medicare to make it contemporary and fit for the future. It’s not about more money but better ways of spending it. @apaphysio

It would be better economics and health outcomes to invest in Multidisciplinary care to assist GP’s manage the chronic disease issue that we are seeing post pandemic. It’s teamwork that will see better health outcomes and not fragmentation. @apaphysio
More than $1b is being spent on setting up urgent care clinics. There's been no evaluation to prove they're providing value for taxpayer dollars, or helping people stay out of hospital. The best solution is funding practices to expand services, including after-hours care. #auspol

Funding is one area of concern for Rural and remote Health workers but enabling the use of full scope of practice, preventative health and patient pathways will actually save money to reinvest into these areas. It’s time for true health reform on top of Medicare funding.
Our regional and rural Australians struggle to access adequate healthcare when they need it. The APA's Immediate Past President @ScottSwillis APAM GAICD spoke to @australian recently about the importance of physiotherapy for the one in three Australians living rurally.

This is a great investment for all Australians. Investing into preventative care, better pathways, high value primary health care that occurs outside general practice is the next step to see true health reform. Integrated MDT care cannot be underestimated. @apaphysio #physio

What would be even more cost savings would be if the consumer didn’t have to see a GP - investment in preventative care, better care pathways, integrated true primary health care outside of the GP surgery and funding high value care that delivers outcomes. @apaphysio

Great work @president_apa - our diggers need to have access to the care they need.
Today, APA President Dr Rik Dawson, External Director Leesa Chesser and General Manager of Policy and Government Relations Katherine Utry, met with the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs the Hon. @mattkeogh, to discuss the value of physiotherapy for veterans.

It’s time to ensure all women have access to best practice care in Primary Health Care when they need it and where they need it. No Australian should be left behind. #physio
Many women face physiological changes without access to prevention, early detection, and credible, evidence-based care – particularly in the primary health setting where there is no publicly funded physiotherapy for women’s health concerns - making affordability a barrier.

#physios assist many women across their lifetime to ensure they can live a pain free, optimal life. This is a welcome announcement and one the @apaphysio have been Advocating for for many years. 🙏
The @albomp @australianlabor Government is strengthening Medicare and delivering more choice, lower costs and better health care for women. Today we announced a $573 million investment which could save women and their families thousands of dollars across their lifetimes.

It would be very wise to fund alternate models of care like non operative OA care, direct referrals to specialists and imaging and preventative healthcare - now that is true health reform that saves money and improves outcomes.
The APA welcomes the federal government's $1.7B boost to Medicare, marking a 12 per cent increase in their contribution to state-run health systems. This is a key step towards properly funding our public hospitals and health services. #auspol #HealthReform #Medicare

It should be about access to the care required by the right person, right location and right time. It’s time to look at all health practitioners scope of practice and enable them to use it. @apaphysio @president_apa
