Scotland has so much potential, yet is held back by petty, divisive nationalism. United we stand, divided we fall - the SNP is not Scotland.

Yesterday, 1,017 people were confirmed to have lost their lives to drugs in Scotland. Today, John Swinney and the SNP will grandstand in the Scottish Parliament about Gaza. Let that sink in, folks - their priorities are all wrong.

Started by the tories continued by Starmer. The @Glinner arrest for a humorous tweet shows that the UK is in the grip of authoritarianism. There’s lots of talk about the far right but in truth they’re irrelevant….the real danger lies with the fascist left progressives.

First week back after a 9 week summer recess and the SNP are devoting an entire afternoon ⁦@ScotParl⁩ to discussing Gaza. A total waste of Parliamentary time when there are so many issues under Holyrood’s remit to debate.

🧵 People across Scotland are struggling - money is tight, bills are up, and hope can feel in short supply. My job is to focus on your priorities, deliver real action on the cost of living, and offer hope for a better future. Short thread on how we will do that. 👇

Shona Robison claims that “most of the defence spending is on Capital” - this is simply false, as she’d know if she took the time to familiarise herself with the figures her government publishes! [GERS page 33]

1/ Shona Robison defends her GERS spin with a litany of false statements: she says her analysis did include spending on military personnel (it didn’t), that the MoD doesn’t know where its people are anyway (of course it does), and that most defence spending is capital (it isn’t).

Why? People in Scotland are waiting 7 years for mental health treatment, so why is he wasting time on this?

Shona Robison was baffled by some basic maths questions yesterday about how averages work. It should be a scandal that we have a completely innumerate Cabinet Secretary for Finance, but so low are the expectations of this government, Robison’s obvious incompetence is tolerated.

While Sturgeon pays no Scottish income tax on her media and book earnings - instead paying far lower corporation tax to Wdstminster. Hypocrisy on tartan stilts.

The SNP has lost control: an £8bn benefits bill, ballooning debt, and zero accountability. Their reckless incompetence is wrecking Scotland’s finances and it’s hard-working taxpayers are left to clean up the mess.

Nicola Sturgeon looks annoyed when asked about the appropriateness of taking an MSP salary while devoting most of her time to writing a book. In the two and a half years since she stepped down as FM, Sturgeon has made 7 spoken contributions in parliament on matters of substance.

As an arch narcissist she’ll be loving the attention. Only true narcissists would assume the rules around sitting in disabled seats at the airport are not for them. Truly the measure of the woman.

Unfortunately Nicola Sturgeon continues to be the talk of the steamie, so perhaps we should remind ourselves (courtesy @Fyrishsunset ) of this disturbing scene at disabled section (airport) where along with entourage travelled to a summit they were not invited to. Guess who paid!

If Murrell has an asset of £60k in the form of a debt owed by the SNP, how exactly does he meet the eligibility criteria for legal aid?

Correction: The loan from "former executive management", ie Peter Murrell, is still £60k.

His wife is rolling in cash, and the political party they jointly led and had fiduciary financial oversight for still owes him £60k. But of course the taxpayer will pay his legal costs for the embezzlement case, because he has no access to sufficient funds. Yep, it reeks.

1/ Interesting detail in SNP accounts just published. In 2022, the SNP’s auditors resigned and the party’s struggle to appoint a new firm was a big news story. Manchester firm AMS eventually took the job, but after two years they too have gone, replaced by MMG - a Scottish firm.
