The Last Hope Of The West & The Fertility Whitepill As fertility declines in the US & Europe, it is only the conservative Heartland Culture that wants to preserve Western Civilization – and is also reproducing in sufficient numbers to do so. 1/

Have to notice that every time the fedgov has fought state authority they’ve lost. Abbot vs Biden border standoff, feds made grandiose threats and did nothing. Trump vs Indiana redistricting, ICE enforcement in Illinois, National Guard deployments. Country may die with a whimper

Wanting someone else to do your violence for you is the very essence of femininity.
That gets us to luxury beliefs. Our freedom has always only existed because we are willing to turn to organized violence - when needed - to create it and protect it. Rowling is unwilling to go there, she wants either an ideal world, or someone else to do reality for her. 9/

Absent major changes we will likely see the death of the mega cities and the end of the DNA lines currently inhabiting them within a century or two, independent of the fertility crisis. Oh well. What can't be sustained won't be sustained. 5/

Where things get really interesting, is that we're screwing up the foundations. The soil is being depleted even fossil fuels drive every aspect of modern industrial agriculture, but as fertilizer & literal fuel. 4/

The man hours to run the factories were only freed up by the excess calories created in the ~150 years of the Agricultural Revolution between the early 1700s & late 1800s. It is only the huge excess calories that allow the mega urban centers - and 95% of modern lifestyles. 3/

Seed drills, steel plows, threshers, combines & the like are what allowed almost all of our current civilization to come into being. For the millennia before that, around 80% to 90% of the population always had to be involved directly in food production. 2/

A great deal of truth to this post! My only quibble is that "industrialization" misses the mark. The Agricultural Revolution came before the Industrial Revolution, it is what created the surplus calories, and those excess calories are what allowed the Industrial Revolution. 1/
@St_Rev @literalbanana I've been arguing for 30 years that the best way to explain the growth of government, NGOs, everything since c 1700 is that industrialization creates, very literally, surplus calories, and we have been witnessing evolution of EMBODIED egregores (organizations) to eat them.

that opponent. To use violence in turn. To not just use violence, but to be better at it. To eradicate a given political belief system. Again, the story of mankind. Now, Rowling (and Lindsay) would likely say that would betray their own beliefs, so they will not. 8/

If the other side is willing to violently impose their beliefs in a totalitarian fashion - and they are doing so right now - then the feminine classic liberal will lose 100% of the time. Guaranteed. To win a conflict against a violent opponent, one has to be willing to crush 7/

However, when we move from violent political opponents shouldn't exist, to violent political opponents do exist, then the feminine classic liberal viewpoint falls apart (as it does for Lindsay and so forth, who is fundamentally a feminine classic liberal. 6/

As a female classic liberal, Rowling quite naturally wants a fair world, where violence is not used to impose political beliefs, or to take resources. She wants the State to protect her from these things. Of course she does! That SHOULD be the nature of the State. 5/

Yes. Absolutely! That is the world that I want to live in. However, that is not our current world, nor is it our natural state. Such a world needs to be created, and then vigorously defended. 4/

What Rowling wants to stipulate as a starting point, is that we SHOULD live in an ideal culture. We should be in a place where everyone is entitled to whatever opinions we have, and all should be free to speak whatever they think, with no fear of violence. 3/

if one is in conflict with illiberal totalitarians who are willing to use violence to impose their political beliefs upon the rest of us. Unfortunately, we are in exactly that situation, and to accept what Rowling writes is to accept defeat & possibly death. 2/

Well written. But, are these eternal truths? These classic liberal beliefs are luxuries that exist inside a few types of highly sophisticated cultures, and are therefore situational. The natural state of man has been conflict & warfare. These beliefs will get one killed 1/

Except it's not their money. The thieving Lib assholes of Minnesota are aiding in the theft of billions from the rest of the nation to go to Somalis. As this was deliberate fraud on the part of Minnesota they need to have their State Treasury funds confiscated for reimbursement.
“I went to Minnesota expecting to find anger over billions of dollars stolen from kids, but I can only find what I find, and what I found was an attitude that graft, by the right people, is almost viewed as an acceptable form of reparations.”

The Midwest is enemy occupied territory, the target of a sustained economic, political, cultural and psychological warfare that has turned it from an ecologically abundant, thriving hub of industry, agriculture and culture into a resource extraction colony for the megalopolises.
