In Nottingham when we fought 3 library closures in 2022 the equality impact assessments were damning. It was VERY obvious libraries targeted were in areas that had the most need for resources & support. The same 3 libraries & another in a similar area are under threat again.
Such an eye-opener, I don’t think library closures had been mapped against index of multiple deprivation before.Surely equality impact assessment should have picked this up. Need to fix council underfunding.
