There are no requirements for any of.Australia’s 38 public universities to make the minutes of their council meetings public. Neither university staff, students, nor the public have the right to know the decision-making processes of the councils that govern AU public universities.

Australia’s public universities are spending $734+ million on consultants—entrenching Big Four influence, reshaping governance, undermining public purpose and NOT using in house expertise! Can journalists please ask Government why are they allowing this?.

Arts degrees are set to remain at $50,000 until at least 2027, despite Albanese’s reform pledges. Do Labor + @JasonClareMP grasp the damage this does to Australian society by devaluing such vital areas of knowledge? .

This new article proposes a mixed "policy", "public good" and "radical -democratic" approach to save our Australian universities. It also points out that universities are key for the future of our nation. All true and urgent! .

Think of it in Australia wide terms. What will it mean if we wont have people educated in Arts and Humanities? Australia on its way to lack the capacity to understand itself.
afr.com
As universities become more like vocational colleges than places of higher learning, the humanities are in steep decline. They can and should be saved.

The managers say that they are "forced to restructure" and blame the government. Of course we need better gov. policy for our universities, but especially we need a complete change of university governance!! The managers are completely incompetent!.

This shows how Australia treats education: by suspending of secondary and primary education degrees as in the case of UTS. The fact that AU /NSW governments allow this to happen and do nothing to prevent managers from destroying knowledge says so much!.

Good morning Australia and good night. Read this article in the Saturday Paper and ask why @JasonClareMP and Co. are doing absolutely nothing to save Australian Universities? As @JennaPrice wrote in the Canberra Times, does our minister for education even have a spine?.
Australian National University Chancellor Julie Bishop and Vice-Chancellor Genevieve Bell are still standing – not because the storms battering Australia’s premier research institution have eased, but because no one in power wants to force a change.

Thank you @JennaPrice for this excellent article about the ANU horror show designed by the ANU managers. Please, we urgently need more reporters to call out the systemic failure of management and of the AU government- doing nothing!.

Please help @AustHistAssoc get to 5000 signatures on our open letter to urge the Albanese government to abolish Job-Ready graduates! This policy was opposed by Labor in opposition: young people don't deserve $50k debts for doing a BA:
