Homeward bound after a few full-on days at the @ASCNUK . Very tiring, staying switched on (and my back is definitely feeling it after standing the whole time!). Catching up with old friends, made it all worthwhile. Now time to see my kids, the icing on the cake. #stoma

A great start to #ASCN2025. Thank you so much @ASCNUK for inviting me to take part. Fantastic sessions with so much interest in irrigation. I’m so passionate that patients who are interested can get support to try irrigation. It can be a game changer in colostomy management.

It’s #worldostomyday. I might not climb mountains or achieve amazing things, but just pootling along in life happily should be celebrated. As should the amazing friends & opportunities a stoma has opened up for me. Shit happened but I’m proud to use my experiences to help others

Saluting and sending love to the ostomy warriors and the great ostomates all over the world. Every journey with a stoma isn’t the same, but everybody with an ostomy story deserves respect, and not to feel any shame. #WorldOstomyDay #Stoma #Ostomy

Gutted (excuse the pun) that I’ll be away and can’t attend but if you are a patient with a parastomal hernia I’d encourage you to take a look & attend if possible. Joining surgeons, nurses and patients together in collaboration. Looks to be a brilliant event!

Did anyone talk to you about how colorectal or pelvic floor surgery could affect your sex life? Most patients in our study said no. Now, we’re creating a tool to ensure these conversations happen—but we need to hear from those who never had one. Email. LNWH-tr.sexprom@nhs.net
