On 5 July 1948, I came into work with my shiny shoes and 12p in my pocket. We couldn’t believe that healthcare was free, I remember my mam paying the doctor before he would even look at you. It was a joy to know that from that historic day onwards, money wasn't an issue #NHS70

Shall we take this opportunity to tell @Jeremy_Hunt that the NHS is still running even though it's a bank holiday? Radiographers (like A and E and wards) work 24/7 for emergency scans and imaging. Our role is vital for patients.

Before 1948 a home delivery cost a shilling and sixpence. That amount would have bought bread and margarine for a whole family. So women took their chances giving birth at home. After the NHS was created, babies were born for free. How wonderful #NHS70 #HappyBirthdayNHS

It doesn't matter how friendly your dog is, or how they'd never hurt anyone, you absolutely must shut them away before an ambulance crew arrives. I've heard from colleagues who've been bitten by the "friendly" dog - they know you're distressed, and we're strangers. #Paramedic.
