I might just retweet this every day forever - it is SO important that doctors experience the positive effects of having a GP. Self care + Primary care = Healthy Doctor.

(2) if you are a doctor & you follow me & you don’t have a GP & you try to manage things yourself . 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 get yourself your own GP . We all need the care that comes with the enduring relationship that happens in primary care.

Fabulous to see specific information and supports about bowel cancer for patients and professionals - even though it is one of the most common cancers in Ireland, it still does not get the coverage it needs!.

I don't know much about public health alcohol harm reduction measures, except that they don't seem to be working very well. I'm curious about societal changes that could help. I don't know many people who drink > 2 cans of Coke at a time - could we all be the same with alcohol?.

"Men were more likely than women to say they would take part in screening if their healthcare professional advised them to - 65% of men compared to 54% of women.".This is why it is so important for GPs and GPNs to actively encourage bowel screening!.@ICGPnews @PracticeNurses.

Research tells us that men and women have some different reasons for taking part – or not taking part – in bowel screening. Peace of mind is what motivates most people to take part. Read the findings 👉 #BowelScreen #ChooseScreening

How do you know if you should invite a GP to your working group for a guideline/position paper/clinical protocol/health technology assessment etc etc etc? .If you use the term "GP" or "primary care" even once in the document, then consider actually asking one to be involved.

I welcome this reform but it doesn’t go far enough . HPAT has done nothing to widen access, it should be binned. Colleges need more funding to take greater proportion of Irish students . Colleges to alter entry requirements for medicine.

Very interesting interval colorectal cancer data being presented at #ACPGBI2025 - those in most deprived group have significantly higher rate. In this study, half of those who were diagnosed with cancer and who had been screened met the definition of an interval cancer.
