As someone about to start working in a university system, it's deeply unsettling to me that people like this are probably also working within it. Thankfully I will not be working in the academic side, but the public safety/law enforcement side these people already hate. 😂💀.

If anyone built a career out of demonising any minority to the degree that Sacha Baron Cohen has demonised Muslims, they would be unemployable - even to play the literal devil. But… racism against Muslims is socially acceptable in the West so… here we are.

This might be controversial, but I don't think work requirements for able-bodied people to receive Medicaid are a bad thing. Obviously, those with documented disabilities shouldn't have to. Average American citizens under retirement age? Yes absolutely.

Pride is supposed to be about showing that we are here, and how far we've come since Stonewall. The goal back then was for us to be accepted & seen as equals in society. The presence of cops, corps, & gov workers at Pride today shows that we've achieved that.

If we're going to be arresting immigrants en masse, we should be doing everything we can to ensure that they are detained in humane conditions, and that they are swiftly deported, rather than indefinitely detained. Alligator Alcatraz is what a concentration camp looks like.
